"We know what is required, and understand the challenges and needs of the supplier, the health service and the user."

Testing of Future Healthcare Solutions

Finding new ways of delivering health related services are is crucial to ensuring a sustainable healthcare sector in the future. There is no lack of innovative ideas and solutions, but the journey from idea to market is demanding. Before solutions can be deployed on a large scale, several technical, practical and legal barriers must be overcome.

Norwegian Smart Care Lab (NSCL) tests and verifies products, prototypes and ideas for the health industry. We know what is required and understand the challenges and the needs of the provider, the health service, and the user.

What we do for companies: We accelerate development and commercialization of new products and services by testing and adjusting to the customer needs. At the same time, we assist in making sure solutions comply with law, standards and norms. We make companies see where their products and services fit into the value chain and help in defining their target customers.

What we do for health and care providers: We simulate and test real situations before solutions are implemented into service. With a design thinking approach, we reveal needs and opportunities, help highlight benefits and set direction. We test and verify the effect of new solutions together with the user and service provider.

Our lab is part of the Norwegian Smart Care Cluster. The cluster provides an arena for interaction, networking and insight between companies, municipalities, hospitals and academies. Several of the companies in the cluster provide services to the lab.

Key partners to NSCL is HelseCampus Stavanger, Alrek Helseklynge, i4Helse and DNV-GL.

We are member of Nordic Proof, a network of professional testing facilities in the Nordic healthcare system.
